Andrew Scott has apparently decided that his current career strategy is to give us whiplash. One minute he is delivering prestige drama and generating serious Oscar buzz, and the next he is looking deeply into Leo Reich’s eyes and growling, “You’re just a hole. You’re just a hole for daddy.”
And yes, we have questions.
Mostly about that voice.
Andrew Scott Has Entered His Daddy Era
A first-look clip from the upcoming Channel 4 comedy series It Gets Worse has arrived ahead of its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival, and Andrew’s brief appearance may already have stolen the show.
Written, created, and starring comedian Leo Reich, the series follows three friends in their mid-20s dealing with eviction, terrible jobs, questionable relationships, and the general horror of becoming an adult in London. It is being produced by A24 for Channel 4, with Crave carrying the series in Canada.
Scott, meanwhile, makes a cameo as a therapist.
Except this is apparently one therapy session where professional boundaries have taken the day off.
“You’re Just a Hole for Daddy”
In the newly circulating clip, Scott’s character tells Reich’s character, “Sorry, I actually have a real client in 15 minutes, so do you want to do this?”
The implication is deliciously messy.
Reich’s character begins rambling awkwardly before Andrew takes control of the situation, holding his jaw and asking, “Do you know what you are?”
Then comes the line that sent the gay internet reaching for its smelling salts.

Scott follows it with a slap, reassures Reich’s character that he’s “fine,” and tells him to open his mouth. The scene then takes an even more outrageous turn involving spit.
We will leave the rest of that particular therapy technique between the fictional therapist and his very enthusiastic patient.
But that low, grumbly Scott delivery?
Absolutely criminal.

From Daddy to Oscar Contender
The timing is particularly funny because Scott is otherwise having a very serious moment in his career.
He stars in Elsinore as Scottish actor Ian Charleson, portraying the final months of Charleson’s life as he prepared for and performed Hamlet at the National Theatre in 1989 while living with AIDS. The film opened the 2026 London Film Festival and has already generated significant awards-season attention around Scott’s performance.
So, within the same awards season conversation, we potentially have Andrew Scott delivering one of the most emotionally demanding performances of his career while also telling Leo Reich that he is a hole for daddy.

It Gets Worse? It Gets Better
It Gets Worse premieres at the BFI London Film Festival on October 14 before its Channel 4 run in the UK. The BFI describes it as a sharp comedy about friendship, housing, work, relationships, and the increasingly chaotic experience of trying to become an adult.
And if Scott’s cameo is any indication, adulthood is apparently going to involve questionable therapists, questionable decisions, and a considerable amount of daddy-related chaos.
Honestly, it could get worse.
