Easily the most anticipated track from Christina Aguilera’s upcoming album Liberation is the #MeToo empowerment anthem “Fall In Line” featuring Demi Lovato released today.

If plans hold up, we may get a live performance of the duet by the two powerhouse pop stars on this Sunday’s 2018 Billboard Music Awards.

Reminiscent of Aguilera’s “Fighter” and “Can’t Hold Us Down” and Lovato’s “Confident” and “Sorry Not Sorry,” the two divas urge women to stand up for themselves, and in doing so, find their inner strength.

From the get-go, Christina has a message for young women: “Little girls, listen closely/ No one told me, but you deserve to know/ That in this world you are not beholden/ You do not owe them your body and your soul.”

Lovato steps up in her verse as well: “Show some skin, make him want you/ Cuz god forbid you know your own way home/ Ask yourself why it matters/ Who it flatters, you’re more than flesh and bone.”

Both ladies celebrated the final product on Twitter:

The potent performances are exactly what you’d expect from the two vocal virtuosos. Their scorched earth, ad-lib approach leaves few notes untouched.
