‘Call Me by Your Name’ director Luca Guadagnino talked about a potential sequel for the 2017 romance film in a recent interview with Variety.
The 51-year-old Italian filmmaker expressed his hopes for a possible part two of the movie, and he also reportedly said that Armie Hammer’s character, Oliver, could still be included despite a number of allegations against the actor.
“I would love to make a second and third and fourth chapter of all my movies. Why? Because I truly love the actors I work with, so I want to repeat the joy of doing what we did together,” Guadagnino stated.
He added about the potential sequel of ‘Call Me by Your Name’ expressing,
“It’s a wish and a desire, and I have not made up my mind about what would be the story.”
More recently, the filmmaker reunited with Timothée Chalamet, who starred alongside Hammer in ‘Call Me by Your Name.’ Guadagnino directed the cannibal romance film ‘Bones and All,’ starring Chalamet and Taylor Russell, and it is now showing in cinemas.

I haven’t read the sequel to Call Me By Your Name, but it seems like it’s a story about the father. The only way I would want a sequel movie is if it’s about Oliver & Elio and more of their gay escapades & hopefully ending with them together. Otherwise no for me.
I don’t care he’s a fantastic actor for people doing their personal private life with a consult of a partner is their own business. This is why a sequel is a must to prove that we do not need to know everything about someone’s personal life fantasies and the realization in their lives are not to be intermixed with those that is on the screen.
I wasn’t distracted by his appearance in the Agatha Christie movie when we went to see it in theaters – but when they did the dance, I was a bit taken aback at the choice to keep that scene in the film. I don’t think it’s necessary for either of them to be the actors chosen, especially if it was to take place later on in life for them both – as the first ideas for a sequel mentioned. I read the book a long time ago and enjoyed it far more than the movie and I remember being very disappointed in the sequel of the book and am not sure it would make a good movie.
