It must be good to be Adam Rippon now.
In the past couple of months, he has become a major force in and out of the LGBTQ community. He earned himself millions of fans during the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea, both for his physical abilities on the skating rink and his no bulls**t kind of talk when it came to our Vice President Mike Pence.
He must have been doing something right, because this burgeoning star just earned himself a spot on Time Magazine's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Not too shabby.
What's even more incredible is that the introduction to his part in this historic list (which also includes Jennifer Lopez, Millie Bobbie Brown and Tiffany Haddish) was penned by none other than the one, the only… Cher.
"All figure skaters are beautiful, but Adam Rippon is different. He isn’t just a beautiful skater. He has humility, grace and an incredible sense of humor," she began (see the rest here).
Adam's reaction to this is understandably emotional, as him being authentically himself has definitely resonated with millions of other people out there, something that he promises to continue to keep doing as time goes by.
Way to go Adam!
