Here’s a quick little story to get a laugh.
Fox News posted an article on former House speaker Nancy Pelosi. In the post, the writer decided to mention that Pelosi would be a guest judge on RuPauil’s Drag Race : All Stars 3.
‘Pelosi will be on the runway to judge Paul’s collection of drag queens for an episode of the series’ upcoming return,’ they wrote.
‘For those unfamiliar with the show, it takes various drag queens and assigns them various challenges each episode that Paul and other judges then use to decide who wins.’
Now, we don’t fault the Fox News writer for not knowing, but we do wonder why he or she didn’t just Google to double check before publishing.
Anyway, if you were wondering, here’s the information behind RuPaul’s name.
RuPaul was born RuPaul Andre Charles. His Louisiana-born mother named him after roux, which is an ingredient used to thicken sauces.
RuPaul says that his mother made an announcement at his birth saying, “His name is RuPaul Andre Charles and he’s gonna be a star, ’cause ain’t another mother fucker alive with a name like that!”
And RuPaul proved her right.
