The new book follows Nolan Reeves, a journalist who finally lands the career opportunity he’s been waiting for: becoming the lead anchor for Olympic coverage. This is supposed to be his big moment. The job that proves he belongs behind the desk and gives him the chance to become a trusted voice for audiences watching the Games.
Except, of course, there’s a little complication. Four years earlier, Nolan had one unforgettable night with a man who then blocked him without explanation. And now that same man is back in his life.
His name is Mateo Álvarez, he’s Team USA Track and Field’s co-captain, he’s a gold-medal favorite, and Nolan’s job is to get an exclusive interview with him.

As Nolan gets closer to Mateo, he starts seeing the man behind the athlete, and suddenly, this isn’t feeling quite so much like a professional assignment anymore. Because the more Nolan learns about Mateo, the harder it becomes to keep those old feelings tucked away. And there’s a lot riding on this.
