Benito Skinner has officially wrapped filming on Overcompensating Season 2—and in a move that surprised absolutely no one, he celebrated by reminding the internet that robes are less of a garment and more of a suggestion.

Benito Skinner Celebrates the Wrap in Signature Thirst-Trap Style
The comedian, actor, and patron saint of queer thirst traps shared a behind-the-scenes Instagram carousel marking the end of production, but one photo immediately stole the spotlight. Standing in front of a mirror with nothing but an open robe, Skinner left very little to the imagination. Thankfully (or tragically, depending on who you ask), a strategically placed star sticker kept Instagram’s community guidelines—and countless gay hearts—from completely melting down.

As if one mirror selfie wasn’t enough to send the group chats into overdrive, another snap finds him shirtless in nothing but a pair of shorts, serving post-wrap confidence with the kind of effortless charm that makes you forget you were supposed to be reading the caption.
Speaking of which, Skinner stayed true to the promise that has practically become his personal brand: “I promise to ALWAYS be a whore on TV.” Mission accomplished.
Overcompensating Season 2 Promises More Chaos, Comedy, and Queer Heart
The thirst is just the appetizer, though. The carousel also doubles as a celebration of Overcompensating officially finishing production on its highly anticipated second season.
Inspired by Skinner’s own coming-out experience, the series follows Benny, a closeted freshman trying to reinvent himself after arriving at Yates University with the baggage of being his high school’s golden boy. Between awkward hookups, questionable decisions, identity crises, and friendships constantly teetering between wholesome and completely chaotic, Overcompensating manages to make queer growing pains feel painfully familiar—and ridiculously funny.

Throw in unforgettable cameos from Megan Fox, Charli xcx, Bowen Yang, Matt Rogers, Lukas Gage, and a parade of delightfully unhinged moments, and it’s easy to see why the comedy quickly earned its place as essential queer television.
Fans Are Already Counting Down to Benny’s Next Semester
Fans had barely recovered from the Season 1 finale before launching their campaign for more episodes, making the renewal announcement feel less like a surprise and more like the universe correcting itself. Skinner has since teased that Season 2 is dialing everything up, including the romance, the comedy, and, naturally, the sex appeal. He even revealed that he wanted Heated Rivalry stars Hudson Williams and Robbie G.K. to appear in the new season, but packed schedules got in the way.

An official premiere date is still under wraps, but if Skinner’s latest photo dump is any indication, Season 2 is arriving with the exact energy fans have been craving: messy, hilarious, unapologetically queer, and just a little bit horny.
Honestly, if this is what the wrap party looks like, imagine what Benny has planned for the next semester.
