Heated Rivalry has barely been in the pop-culture spotlight for a year, but its impact is already showing up in some very unexpected places. Like, say, a French restaurant in Hamilton, Ontario, that was struggling to stay afloat.
Enter Le Tambour Tavern, the restaurant that went from bleeding cash to welcoming fans from Los Angeles, Chicago, Shanghai, Australia, and beyond, all thanks to one very horny hockey show.
A Restaurant Waiting for Its Moment
Chef and French-trained restaurant owner Teo Paul opened Le Tambour in 2023, transforming a former music venue into a French-inspired tavern with an open-fire kitchen. Paul wanted the restaurant to bring a little bit of Parisian magic to Hamilton, with dishes inspired by his time training in France.

But getting the neighbourhood to embrace the new restaurant wasn’t exactly easy. The restaurant industry was struggling, and Le Tambour spent its first two years losing money.
Then came a call from the production team behind Heated Rivalry.
The restaurant was chosen as a filming location in 2025. Paul didn’t think much of it at the time. The crew came in, filmed their scenes, and left.
Then the show premiered.

Suddenly, Everyone Wants a Table
Paul later recalled hearing someone at his gym raving about Heated Rivalry and its rapidly growing fandom. Soon after, Le Tambour started receiving reservation requests from fans around the world. And they weren’t just coming for the photo opportunity.
Fans wanted to sit where Shane Hollander met Rose Landry, the fictional restaurant setting used in the show. The location appears in key scenes involving Shane and Rose, making it an instant pilgrimage stop for viewers. The best part? According to Paul, customers actually liked the food and came back.
Because apparently, gay hockey romance can sell a good steak.
Of Course There Are Cocktails
Le Tambour has also fully embraced its Heated Rivalry era with themed cocktails, including the Tall, Dark and Hollander, made with rum, pear, vanilla, lime, and ginger beer, and the Meet Me at the Cottage, an espresso-based cocktail featuring cognac, coffee liqueur, and Fernet.
So yes, you can now visit one of the show’s memorable locations, order a Heated Rivalry cocktail, and eat some very good food while reliving your favourite scenes.
Not bad for a restaurant that was once struggling to get people through the door.
Turns out all Le Tambour needed was a little open-fire cooking, a little Parisian charm, and two ridiculously hot hockey players to bring everyone to the table.
