Legendary Saint & Fire Island DJ Warren Gluck Passes Away

Warren Gluck was one of those DJ’s that whenever you arrived at the nightclub (or the event or the cruise) and found out he was going to behind the decks that night, you knew that you would be in for an evening on a dance floor like you have rarely had. Warren Gluck sadly and shockingly, left us today; leaving the music world a little darker and our lives a lot less bright. The imprint he has made on the history of music within the LGBT community though, remains firm.

  1. No one could read a crowd better than Warren Gluck. His prince like demeanor would take you on a rollercoaster ride every time! His courage and sixth sense were God given gifts. A gardener, a rollercoaster lover, a dog lover, with two who lay at his side when he passed, an angel trumpet lover and mostly, with his beautiful soul and heart, a humankind lover. A truly amazing talent who never let ego interfere with his ability, he will remain the very best of club di’s. What makes me sadder is that he never received the notoriety or salary he deserved. He also was denied a radio career. We knew each other for years. I got him an audition at Les Mouches where I worked from 1979 – 1981 and one person declined to hire him. I was more than upset. The last time I heard him was New Year’s Eve in 2000. Warren took me on a journey that night. And like all the others, I shall hold close those secret places where as a navigator and pilot, he used his map and found treasure to share with all. God Bless you, Warren and thank you for the music. xoxox
