Get the tissues ready, because the below Sprite Argentina ad will brighten your day and wet your eyes.
The new ad from Sprite was released for Buenos Aires Pride this past weekend. Sprite joined together with the Santo advertising agency and Federacion Argentina LGBT to create the inclusive and representative ad.
While we are all too familiar with companies using Pride as an excuse to advertise to LGBTQ people. We at least cherish the representation that ads like the following bring us. It’s also nice to know that Sprite put in the work by reaching out to an LGBTQ organization for advice and support. We don’t want another Pepsi/Kendall Jenner situation.

In the actual advertisement video, which lasts a short minute and 35 seconds, we see families supporting LGBTQ youth. From a mom helping her son put on makeup to a grandmother helping her grandon get dressed in drag, to a girl helping her trans bother, a family painting a Pride flag, and a dad driving his son and his son’s boyfriend to Pride. Every image and scene is sweet and charming.
It would be remiss of us not to point out that the video focuses solely on GBT men in its story of inclusion and acceptance. It’s a shame that there aren’t any LBT women involved with the scene of love and acceptance. That said, the overall message is still sweet and charming. So we’ll let it go.
