Casting announcements are coming out for the upcoming The L Word revival, and two of these new cast members are Netflix fan favorites.

While many LGBTQ fans and fans of LGBTQ media were sad to see the end of Sense8, it looks like that won’t be the end of Jamie Clayton. Clayton played Nomi Marks, a sensate, hacker, and transwoman in an outstanding lesbian relationship at the heart of the show. Now, the Sense8 staple will be joining about queer-tastic series in The L Word revival, Generation Q.

Clayton has been cast as Tess, “a no-nonsense bartender who sees other people clearly but has a blind spot when it comes to her own relationships.”

Jamie Clayton is the second trans actress to join the cast of this updated series. The first was Sophie Ginnamore, who was cast as Jordi, “a rebellious teen with absent parents.” In addition, there’s been news of a trans male character to join the cast as well. Though, no details were given on that role.

But how will The L Word’s revival look in its finished form? Well, it appears that the eight-episode Showtime series will show the full spectrum of LGBTQ life today.

“In this revival, Beals, Moennig, and Hailey will star on the series as their original characters alongside a new generation of self-possessed LGBTQIA characters experiencing love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks and success in L.A,” the description reads.

With that in mind, the show is looking to represent all sections of LGBTQ life but perhaps keep a focus on lesbian and trans women. To do that, the new castings have not only included Clayton but also When They See Us’s Freddy Miyares and Better Call Saul’s Carlos Leal.

Miyares will be playing José, who is described as “a charming and kind artist who is trying to move on from his complicated past.” As for Leal, he will play Rodolfo, “a strong-willed, manipulative CEO who strives to provide what he thinks is best for his family.”

Marja-Lewis Ryan will be serving as the showrunner for this sequel as well as an executive producer, alongside The L Word’s creator Ilene Chaiken. Of course, original series stars Jennifer Beals, Katherine Moennig, and Leisha Hailey will return. They’ll be joined by the three new actors cast above and Rosanny Zayas, Arienne Mandi, Leo Sheng, Jacqueline Toboni and Sepideh Moafi.
