Figure skater and out and proud gay man Adam Rippon has made his thoughts very clear about going to The White House if he gets invited: no, thanks.

His reasons are pretty simple: he does not feel he would be welcomed as a gay athlete.  “I won’t go to the White House,” he told the BBC in an interview. “I don’t think somebody like me would be welcome there. I know what it’s like to go into a room and feel like you’re not wanted there.”

Adam, who is the first openly gay American to be named to the Winter Olympic team, said that as an Olympic athlete, he feels it is his “duty” to be a “role model” and speak out against injustice.

His comments come only a day after Trump made international headlines after he reportedly referred to Haiti, El Salvador and some African nations as "shithole countries."

“If I talked to people the way that President Trump talks to people, my mom would kick my ass,” he said.

Adam is the second Winter Olympic athlete to speak out against Trump, as skier Lindsay Vonn said that she doesn't want to represent Trump at the Olympics and would also decline an invitation to The White House.
