The Grand Resort –Florida’s #1 spa-resort for men on Fort Lauderdale Beach celebrated its 20th-anniversary last night. Ever-so-sexy owner, Casey Koslowski, and the stellar Grand Resort staff welcomed guests to come party into the night, with a lively soiree open to the entire LGBTQ community, its friends, and allies.
For this milestone event, local celebrity and Joan Rivers impersonator, Joe Posa was on hand to kick things off with comedic flair, complete with an homage to Rivers’ signature wisecracking, red carpet antics. Sexy GoGo boys tantalized onlookers as they shook what their mamas (and papas) gave them, and special guest performer and hometown favorite – RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Star, Latrice Royale wowed the crowd with her excellent, larger-than-life performances. DJ Sushiman provided the music for the night, and a proclamation was presented by Fort Lauderdale’s Mayor, Dean Trantalis.
The Grand Resort and Spa is Fort Lauderdale’s premiere gay-owned and operated men’s spa-resort that first opened in 1999. With 33 well-appointed rooms and suites, it is located just steps from the beach and convenient to all of Fort Lauderdale’s attractions and nightlife. I can honestly say staying at the Grand has for years been the highlight of my snowbird excursions as I escaped the dreary cold winters of New York City.

Fort Lauderdale has emerged over the past two decades as a prime destination for the LGBTQ community, with the gay beach area known as Sebastian Beach, becoming a beacon for the boys who love to frolic in the sun. The Grand Resort is a short walking distance from Sebastian Beach, just roughly 10 minutes depending on how fast you walk (or run) to get to the action. I usually run and can’t get there soon enough!

From a relaxing Swedish massage to a haircut before your night on the town, the talented staff can accommodate all your needs.
RuPaul Drag Race fans know the Grand Resort’s Penthouse as a featured Grand prize, provided each season to lucky challenge winners. I have had the pleasure of staying in the penthouse suite a few nights. It was fabulous as I sipped cocktails under the stars in the private hot tub, splashed in the buff in the outdoor shower, sunbathed on the expansive, private sun deck and enjoyed all the other amenities offered in the Grand PentHouse experience.
Most recently, the notorious Dragrace contestant, Silky Ganache became the latest winner of a challenge for which the Grand Prize Penthouse was the reward.
The Grand Resort is a staple for gay men looking for great accommodations where they can be free, feel pampered by the staff, and have a plethora of offerings and services. Whereas the north beach neighborhood once boasted many men-exclusive, clothing optional resorts, today The Grand Resort is one of two remaining to offer such liberating accommodations.
In my opinion, nobody does it like the Grand Resort. They are in a class of their own, thanks in part to the professional staff, which includes Edward Oz – the handsome, sparkling-green eyed property manager and his team who keep the grounds and rooms immaculate while delivering attentive guest relations.
I can’t say enough good things about this place, which has become my home away from home when I visit Fort Lauderdale but don’t just take my word for it.
