When a British Royal uses your local airport, you take note. Thanks for flying into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport last night, Prince Harry. Okay that's not the story, that a royal used an American airport, but it was newsworthy to someone since we have this footage.
It seems that Harry has not fallen far from the Princess Diana tree of giving. The one of the main reasons for the Prince's visit to southern Florida is his work with HIV/AIDS charities.
MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Wellington has a royal visitor just in time for an annual polo match raising money for charity. Prince Harry is making an appearance at the 2016 Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Cup at Valiente Polo Farm on May 4th. The matches are meant to raise money for Prince Harry’s charity Sentebale which supports children and young people affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The prince was spotted arriving at Fort Lauderdale – Hollywood International Airport on Tuesday, ahead of the event the next day.
According to the Palm Beach Post, Prince Harry’s stay will be short since he will be heading to Orlando for the Invictus Games. He’s scheduled to stay there for more than a week. The games, held at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports, are for veterans who were injured while in service. The games will last from May 8th to May 12th.
Prince Harry is scheduled to leave on May 13th. – miami.cbslocal.com
Since he will now be familiar with the polo grounds, maybe we can work on having Prince Harry come next year to be a part of the 8th Annual Gay Polo Week (read our previous story on 7th Annual International Gay Polo Week – Horses, Hunks, And Happy Times).
Thanks Prince Harry for visiting our State and Nation and as well for raising awareness and funds to support those affected by HIV/AIDS. Best of luck at the Invictus Games.
