Once Upon A Time is one of my favorite shows. Even when it gets a little kampy, it's still good. With their trek into Hades this coming 1/2 season, I am sure it will be entertaining.
Besides Hades, it looks like we may be going back a little bit in Belle's time table and be introduced to Gaston. Who will play the hairy chested villain?
“Once Upon A Time” has found Belle’s dangerous suitor, Gaston.
The chiseled hunter will be played by “True Blood” alum Wes Brown who’s been cast in an upcoming episode, Variety has learned exclusively.
Gaston’s storyline will take viewers back to Belle’s (Emilie de Ravin) time before she met Rumple (Robert Carlyle), furthering the exploration of “Once Upon A Time’s” twist on Gaston’s role in the “Beauty & the Beast” tale.
Previously, the role “Sir Gaston” was played by actor Sage Brocklebank, who appeared in one episode in “Once’s” first season.
The episode in which Brown’s Gaston will appear has not been set yet, though it will be during the back-half of the fifth season, which returns on Sunday, Mar. 6.
Aside from “True Blood,” Brown’s other TV credits include the CW’s “90210,” “Hart of Dixie,” “Private Practice” and NBC’s short-lived drama “Deception,” in which he was a series regular. – variety.com
So does he have what it takes? It looks like he certainly has the hair, but we'll have to see if they can increase his chest hair before shooting.
Beauty and the Beast is one of the musical movies from my past that I think I know most of the songs from still to this day. I wonder if they will do a musical episode. Variety did report on that as well …
The show will also hit its 100th episode during season five, but the producers remained tight-lipped about the milestone. “We want to make it very special, and we want the 100th episode to be our spring premiere,” Horowitz said. “We’re hard at work trying to not tell you anything.”
As for a potential musical episode, Kitsis asked the cast whether they wanted to sing, and was answered with a resounding “yes!”
“It would be great to do a musical episode, I don’t know even where to begin,” Kitsis admitted. “Does anybody have any songs? ‘It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like a Dark Curse is Coming’ is what we’d start with…” – variety.com
So putting these two aspects together, will a Gaston and a musical episode be one and the same?
While we wait for that answer, here are some more pics of Wes Brown.
