The L Word’s upcoming revival has released its first trailer.
It seems the wave of reboots and revivals is hitting queer spaces hard. While Will & Grace’s revival is sadly at an end, two other popular LGBTQ shows are returning to tv channels on their own.
While the French and British reboots of Queer As Folk are still getting their footing, The L Word’s revival has taken its next step to airing. Namely, a trailer.
The L Word: Generation Q will see Jennifer Beals, Kate Moennig and Leisha Hailey reprise their original roles. But then they’re being joined by a whole new set of LGBTQ characters played by LGBTQ actors such as Sense8 star Jamie Clayton, Leo Shang, Arienne Mandi, Jacqueline Toboni, and Rosanny Zayas.
“In this revival, Beals, Moennig, and Hailey will star on the series as their original characters alongside a new generation of self-possessed LGBTQIA characters experiencing love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks and success in L.A,” the show’s description reads.
“That hiatus felt really long,” jokes Alice (Leisha Hailey) in the trailer. “It felt like a decade, right?” jokes Alice (Leisha Hailey) in the trailer, so it looks like the show will be as dramatic, self-aware, and queer as before.
