Andy Cohen helped revolutionize Bravo from being primarily an arts network and turning it into a pop culture phenomenon many years ago.

The 50-year-old was one of the many minds behind some of the biggest television shows on the air today including The Real Housewives franchises, Top Chef, Flipping Out and many, many more.

These are programs that have built in gay fan bases thanks to the half naked men that appear on many of the shows plus the over the top ridiculousness from the Housewives and catchphrases that rival RuPaul’s Drag Race any day of the week (“GO TO SLEEP!”)

Andy finally let the cat out of the bag over which Bravo show is his absolute favorite. He spoke about it at a For Your Consideration Emmys event in Manhattan recently after a fan point blank asked him which one it was.

“Gosh, that’s so hard,” Andy said. Maybe The Real Housewives of New York City?” His answer was met with thunderous applause, not surprising given that he talked about this in The Big Apple.

RHONY no doubt helped put Bravo on the map when it premiered ten years ago. It helped launch the careers (to varying degrees) of some of its castmates like Bethenny Frankel and Luann De Lesseps all while giving us some of the most memorable moments in reality television.

Ones that come to mind include Kelly Bensimon‘s Oscar-worthy performance in Scary Island, Ramona Singer‘s “Turtle Time”, the downfall of Bethenny and Jill Zarin‘s relationship and Simon Van Kemden screaming “YOU’RE RUINING THE F***ING SURPRISE” in the backseat of a limo next to his equally entertaining wife Alex McCord.
