Bob the Drag Queen and Monet X Change are arguably two of the most beloved queens to have ever stepped foot in the RuPaul’s Drag Race werk room.

Their relationship with one another goes far beyond the Emmy-winning series, so much so that they created a show together called Sibling Rivalry. The duo’s most recent performance took place at Sony Hall in their hometown of New York City on Sunday, March 17.

I knew going into this that it was going to be awesome. I’ve been a fan of Bob and Monet for years as I also live in NYC and have seen them perform way before they were even on RPDR. You put these two together on one stage, knowing the kind of talent each of them already brings, and you are guaranteed to have a great night.

Bob and Monet work very well off one another. Their friendship excels in an arena like this, where they can crack jokes with us throughout the show while giving us some amazing performances slapped in between.

The two RPDR winners kicked things off with a rousing medley of different songs that included everything from Soulja Boy’s “Crank That” all the way to “Cotton Eye Joe.” This parlayed into them chatting with us while shading the hell out of each other in the process. Bob and Monet are quick-witted with their humor. They can come up with things on the fly and were able to expertly do that poking fun at each other, the audience or their fellow Drag Race alumni.

Bob and Monet put on some amazing individual performances in between the comedy and whatnot that included some incredible fashions and choreography. There were also some special guests in the audience including season 4 competitor Jiggly Caliente and season 10 queen Dusty Ray Bottoms.

Eureka O’Hara, who competed with Dusty and Monet on season 10 as well, took to the stage to do her own number. I love Eureka, however what she did was a tad lowkey compared to the types of thrilling performances I’ve seen her do in the past. She lip-synced to an unknown song while simply walking around the stage. That’s great and all, but when you are kind of the opening act for Bob and Monet, you should be able to match the energy they bring as well.

Bob, Monet and Eureka finished the show by doing a live podcast of Sibling Rivalry and talking about a variety of topics including the Michael Jackson documentary Leaving Neverland and racism in the world today. All three excelled at talking seriously about each while injecting some humor so that they didn’t lose the crowd. Overall this was a great show and something that I would see again in the future.

Kudos to Bob and Monet for putting on such a successful evening.
