Donald Trump is in for a Fierce Welcome in the UK

In July, Donald Trump will be visiting the UK and people across the pond are NOT having it! In response, there is Facebook event page that is rallying all “drag kings, queens, queers, and allies” to march against Donald Trump in protest.

Due to the appalling way the Trump administration has regarded the rights and welfare of LGBTQI communities of the US, the idea of a Trump visit to the UK is unacceptable.

Let's get visible, stand with our sister's, brothers and others in America, and show that we are a country that celebrates diversity.

We will meet at a central location and join the main protest. Details of meeting location and times will be announced as we understand more about the itinerary of the visit and our fellow protester's plans.

All ages, races, genders and orientations welcome! If you are organising a large group from your city please get in touch to help us co-ordinate.

Cheddar Gorgeous wrote for The Guardian about the importance of this demonstration:

People of colour, migrants and women have also been the subject of controversial policies, offensive remarks and ill-thought-out tweets. It feels as if the Trump administration seeks to use diversity as the scapegoat on which America is apparently made great again … and, to top it off, he failed to recognise pride month.

To not object to the visit would seem like a betrayal of the tolerant society that the UK as a whole strives to be.

When diversity is attacked, it is imperative that marginalised people stay visible, stand up to bullies and engage satirically with what is going on.

Will there be a Melania drag queen? More than likely. The event is expected to take place on July 13th when the Donald arrives. It should be a YUGELY fabulous affair! If you’re in the UK, you need to get there!
