Well—it was bound to happen. The return of Roseanne has been at the center of controversy since the show was rumored to be coming back. And with a premiere that came two decades after the show’s original finale, viewers have been on the “love it or hate it” balance with the show.
ABC had even declared that they were renewing Roseanne for a second season after the show’s revival had generated many ratings.
However, the real issue has always been Roseanne Barr’s politics and outright big mouth—especially her highfalutin way of getting on her soapbox on Twitter. She’s outwardly supportive of Donald Trump and has been disgusting with her bigotry toward Muslims.
So yes—it was just a matter of time before ABC pulled the plug on the blue collar granny from Lanford, Illinois.
This morning, Roseanne tweeted out a hateful tweet about Valerie Jarrett, former Obama aide, calling her the offspring of the “Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes.”
The tweet immediately garnered extreme backlash to the actress we thought was winning the hearts of viewers once again. Wrong!
Wanda Sykes, one of the show’s producers has expressed that she is DONE!
And TV’s Darlene, Sara Gilbert, who spearheaded the show’s revival is exceptionally distraught with Roseanne’s sad public display:
Roseanne does seem to be remorseful, but too little too late for the once funny woman of television. ABC has called it quits on her claims Variety and every other major media outlet.
In a statement, head of ABC Entertainment Channing Dungey declared: “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show."
And think about all the jobs lost for the crew and the incredible cast that made up the greater part of why the show was funny!
Roseannne quickly deleted her original tweet and followed up with:
RIP Roseanne revival. Do you think Roseanne has learned her lesson? And will others associated with the star also be done with her?
I do not endorse racism of
I do not endorse racism of any kind. Nor do I endorse bigotry. However, I do believe in forgiveness if someone is truly repentant. “To error is human, forgive divine”.
Live by the Trumpian sword…
Live by the Trumpian sword…..die by it. Have a nice retirement Roseanne. Your mouth put a lot of good people out of work. I hope you are proud of what you have done.
