Four smiling policewomen looked like they were having a blast with some male strippers recently, and now they are in hot water by the NYPD because of it.
The New York Post broke the story, which showed the ladies posing with one stripper in particular who was wearing nothing but a g-string and boots.
According to The New York Post, the photo was taken during a Mother's Day party at a senior center in Upper Manhattan.
Two of the cops were identified by sources as Amber Guzman and Nathalie Lebron. Both women work as neighborhood coordinating officers under Mayor Bill de Blasio's "neighborhood policing" initiative. This is an event that precinct cops usually attend.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Jessica McRorie told the New York Post the officers had no idea that there would be male dancers, and that the senior center attendees encouraged them to pose for the photo. “The commanding officer is aware and will address the incident at the precinct level,” said McRorie.
One of the officers colleagues came to their defense, saying “Everyone’s having a good time there,” he told the New York Daily News. “It’s not like the cops are the ones stripping. Come on, how does that not make those cops more endearing? They’re there having a good time with the people there.”
