Those “Protein Style” stacks from the secret menu are pretty tasty, but not tasty enough to excuse this.

As reported by The Los Angeles Times, California Democrats (and many others) are outraged by a public filing that revealed fast food giant In-N-Out Burger donated $25,000 to the California Republican Party.

After freelance reporter Gabe Schneider first revealed the information via Twitter, California Democratic Party Chairman Eric Bauman tweeted a link to a story about the donation saying, ““Et tu In-N-Out?” with the hashtag #BoycottInNOut.

As of writing this article, “BoycottInNOut is trending in a major way on Twitter.

The L.A. Times quotes one Twitter user who sums it up perfectly: “Looks like my family and I will be boycotting your restaurants from now on. You donate to the GOP, that means you stand with Trump and all his bigotry.”

Great point—but In-N-Out is such a California institution that it seems unlikely, if not impossible, that a “boycott” will have much impact.

In-N-Out Burger was founded in 1948 by Harry and Esther Snyder. Not unlike Chick-fil-A, the chain is widely known for its religious affiliations. Bible verses are quoted on their burger wrappers. If only there were a Secret Menu option to have wrappers with no Bible verses on them, am I right?!

I for one have always preferred Shake Shack and Five Guys, by some margin. Now I have a great excuse to pig out and support them.

  1. Interesting that you

Interesting that you completely fail to report that In-N-Out donated the same amount of money to the Democrats.  I mean, heaven forbid that the truth should spoil any chance at false outrage.

This is the USA. We all have the freedom to donate our money to whomever we wish. Get over yourselves.

Oh, the irony.  Another useless fool, not understanding even basic facts.

Neither the article nor anyone else said anything about not being allowed to donate.  The conversation is about boycotting them, an actual right of US citizens, as defined by the constitution.
