Does Her Nomination Make Billboard Lose Some Credibility?
Ohhh, I called this months ago! Back in September I begged the question is bhad bitches were winning…it turns out, they kind of are?! The success of Cardi B among others has proven society is down for ratchet music for us to twerk too more than sharing a milkshake with a potential beau at a diner. Times have certainly changed, especially with the revolution of social media. Nowadays anyone can be famous for any given moment and trust me, people will do anything to get their minute of viral fame. One person who pushed further than her fifteen minutes is none other than breakout star, Bhad Bhabie AKA Danielle Bregoli. Bregoli appeared on an episode of The Dr. Phil Show where she harassed her mother and showcased her ridiculous antics. After going to some sort of…almost rehab for aggressiveness, she deemed herself cured of a bad attitude. Alas, her attitude toughened up once again after she hit viral fame. This time, her mother was yelling at the bank to cash some checks rather than telling her daughter to behave. I am not surprised I'm saying this…but, I'm happy Bregoli never stopped with her poor attitude!
After a whirlwind of backlash on social media, Bregoli persisted against her haters. She released a studio album from Atlantic Records, has had an array of music videos, her songs really aren't that bad, and she's one of the biggest social media celebrities to date. All of her hard work and abrasive antics of fighting have paid off…because Bregoli has been nominated for a Billboard Music Award.
According to the Billboard Music Awards, Bhad Bhabie is literally – I'm not kidding – nominated for Top Rap Female Artist. Her only competition in the category are fellow former bhad girls, the aforementioned Cardi B and Legendary Nicki Minaj. I'm literally sitting here laughing just a little too hard, but if you give Bregoli's music a listen: It's really not that bad! Still, if I was someone like Remy Ma or Azealia Banks, I'd be heavily insulted. I'm pretty much rooting for Bregoli at this point, but with the year Cardi B has been having…I doubt the award doesn't go to her.
