A 27-year-old man in Fulton County died of a “chronic illness” while serving time as an inmate.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta resident and dancer Contravious Butron Burson, known as Trey by close ones, was alive and well at the Fulton Country Jail until as recently as this past Wednesday. Unfortunately, Burson was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital on Thursday afternoon and died later that day.
Bruson, who was openly gay, was arrested by Atlanta police in early November on counts of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and carrying a weapon without a valid license. According to Atlanta police, Burson threatened to shoot an AMC Phipps Plaza 14 security guard. Burson allegedly erupted in rage after being asked to leave a theater once a film had finished.
“Don’t tell (me) what the f*** to do. I’ll shoot you,” Burson allegedly said before a struggle broke out. Burson was restrained by the security guard until police arrived at the scene.
No specific details have been given about this “chronic illness” that assailed Burson. When specifically asked for more information, Tracy Flanagan, the sheriff’s office spokeswoman, said, “No additional details can be released at this time.”
