The internet is forever and like confederate statues in the south, old perverse tweets that were oddly unfunny back in the day are now just well more oddly unfunny and fodder for people to get you fired.

Deadline.com is reporting that James Gunn has been removed as director of the Guardians Of The Galaxy series because some of his old tweets were brought out of internet storage by Fox News.  No one should make jokes about pedophilia and rape ever, but especially on social media where it will come back to haunt you like Robert E. Lee.

All of these messages were fingered well before Gunn was given the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Deadline writes, "According to Fox News, they were posted because Gunn is an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump and the effort was to knock him down a few pegs."

What was in those tweets and social media posts?

“I like when little boys touch me in my silly place.”
