The reigning People’s Sexiest Man Alive recently stepped onto the red carpet at the 83rd Venice Film Festival, giving everyone another very good reason to keep that particular title in mind.
With Armani Beauty among the major brands supporting the festival, its global ambassador Bailey was naturally on hand to represent the brand. And represent it he did.
A Tuxedo Worth Staring At
Bailey arrived in a relaxed-fitting tuxedo styled with a velvet scarf, giving the traditional black-tie look a slightly more modern, effortlessly chic twist. The actor looked directly toward the cameras before flashing that enormous, ridiculously charming smile.
The Venice appearance also arrives during a relatively quiet period for Bailey professionally. The actor was originally expected to return to the West End alongside Ariana Grande for the revival of Sunday in the Park with George, but ultimately stepped away after Grande departed the production.
The actor confirmed his decision in an Instagram Story, writing, “Ari is one of my dearest friends, and my support for her is unwavering.” He continued, “After much consideration, I have decided to step back from Sunday in the Park with George.”

He also wished the entire company the best, making it clear that his decision was rooted in supporting his longtime friend and Wicked co-star.

The Next Bailey Era Is Coming
Thankfully for anyone experiencing Jonathan Bailey withdrawal, his next major screen project should give us plenty to look forward to.
The actor is set to star alongside Lukas Gage and Natalie Portman in the upcoming thriller Pumping Black, playing Taylor Mace, a 35-year-old professional cyclist whose career is beginning to sputter just as the pressure to win reaches increasingly dangerous levels.
So while Bailey might be taking a little breather from the stage, he certainly isn’t disappearing.
