“Stupid Love” will act as the lead track off her forthcoming album which looks to be called LG6 based on the hashtag that she provided along with the major announcement. It’s a fitting title as it marks her sixth overall studio effort since she first released The Fame back in 2008.

The suspense of “Stupid Love” officially being released may not be that big it was leaked back in January. It caused the 33-year-old to tweet “Can ya’ll stop” with a stock photograph of a young girl wearing a mask and listening to music using a cassette player. Regardless it was well-received by fans and critics, with W magazine‘s Kyle Munzenrieder writing, “It was classic Gaga with a chugging power chorus, and a big room backing track. Gay bars across the globe started playing it in full, according to Twitter reports. Her fans began dissecting what it told us about the upcoming album.”

Fans of Gaga have been eagerly awaiting new music from her for quite some time. This will be her first solo single she’s released since 2017’s “Joanne” which became a top ten hit on the Billboard charts after she performed it during the Super Bowl Halftime Show that year.

Things have been quite busy for her in between them as she experienced a ton of incredible success in the acting world thanks to the 2018 release of her film A Star is Born alongside actor and director Bradley Cooper.

The 4th iteration of the movie was immensely successful worldwide and earned the New York native her first Academy Award for Best Original Song (“Shallow”). She was also nominated that year for Lead Actress but lost to Olivia Colman in The Favorite
