The Queen of Pop has debuted another video for the Madame X era, and perhaps another taste of her upcoming Madame X Tour.
Madonna‘s “Batuka” is a politically-charged track in the style of the Batuque, created by women in Cape Verde: according to the video, “some say the birth place of slave trade.”
The percussion-heavy, call-and-answer style song is passionately sung by Madge. When she sings,
“Get that old man/Put him in a jail
Where he can’t stop us
Where he can’t hurt us”
–it’s not that hard to guess to whom she is referring.
