One Person Shot At Fort Lauderdale Strip Club.

I guess I was fortunate to be at the other strip club in Fort Lauderdale last night.  It seems that Sebastian Kross saved me some drama by performing at LeBoy last night. It didn't sound too fun over at Boardwalk.

Police are searching for a gunman after a person was shot Saturday at a Fort Lauderdale strip club.

At least 13 Fort Lauderdale Police cars responded to the shooting at Boardwalk, a club featuring male dancers, at 10:07 p.m. near North Andrews Avenue and Northeast 17th Court.

Jeffery Koket, 52, was watching the Democratic debate from his home across the street when he thought he heard fireworks.

"The first one was a couple shots. Then the second round was like boom, boom, boom," he said of the gunshots. "Then all of a sudden, the police arrived."

That man was taken to Broward Health Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police spokesman Det. Keven Dupree said.

"The suspect fled on foot and despite a search by K-9 and air, the culprit was not located," he said.

Police were still searching for the gunman two hours after the shooting. – sun-sentinel.com

That's the report from an eye witness, but another source adds:

An unidentified man was reported to be in guarded condition at a local hospital after having been shot multiple times in the parking lot of the local male strip club, The Boardwalk.

The incident was reported to have been the result of an argument that started inside the club and escalated into the parking lot at about 10 pm Saturday night. Over a dozen police responded to the incident at 1721 N Andrews Ave. with paramedics transporting the victim to the Broward Health Medical Center.

Despite an extensive search of the area with K-9 officers, the suspect remains at large. The victim is expected to make a full recovery.

So it sounds like he is okay, but still under protection and care.

Both LeBoy and Boardwalk are safe places to meet and are not in sketchy parts of town.  This seems to be just someone being a little out of control which can happen anywhere.  It just so happened to be around dancing men in their underwear.

But I was shocked and happy that 13 police cars responded to the incident.  A shooting is no laughing matter but did more cars than necessary respond because it was a strip bar?  In all seriousness, thank you for your quick and serious response FTL PD and WM PD.  I am sure other parts of the country, response time and volume would not have been as quick and plentiful when involving a gay establishment.
