An Extensive Breakdown On Alleged Pedophile, Bryan Singer!

Alleged Drug-Fueled Orgies, Celebrities, Abuse, And More!

What I will share with you next may haunt you as it does me.  I’m a 27-year-old gay man living in West Hollywood, California who works in the entertainment industry. When I was younger, it was always my dream to be in the land of the stars, but nowadays, what dream fulfillment doesn’t come with a consequence or two? When I arrived in Los Angeles four years ago and talking with potential peers about why I moved out here (to pursue a writing career), they gave the semi-naive 23-year old me the once-over and said, “You’ll end up in Bryan’s circle, just look at you.” I was/am flamboyant, deemed attractive, and twinky as could be, while looking five years younger than anyone would believe.  My response was, "Bryan who?"  Gurl, did I learn quick who.

When I say nearly everyone in the gay scene of West Hollywood told me this upon my move to Los Angeles, I’m not exaggerating. Everyone implied I would end up at a (sex) party eventually, being one of the boys “belonging” to infamous Director, Bryan Singer, who has faced allegations of sexual abuse and pedophilia for decades. Yes, with a D – decades – and I have written about the limitless allegations many times in less than two years with Instinct Magazine. Not only does everyone know about Singer, but they also talk freely about his long-term friends finding young, naive boys who want to make it in the entertainment industry. But those allegations and friends' names are for another story or maybe they'll all come out with the rest of the facts once Singer is out of the "alleged " category and officially charged. Now, in a lengthy exposé, more men are coming forward to speak on their alleged abuse at the hands of the X-Men and Bohemian Rhapsody director.

According to The Atlantic,  Singer’s allegations have gotten more vile and disgusting than they ever have. Maximillian Potter and Alex French spent a year investigating Singer before writing the article which was supposed to be released in Esquire Magazine’s November 2018 issue. After vetting, fact checking, and having an attorney review their article on Singer, Esquire’s media company, Hearst Media, suddenly pulled the story from the pages. Hearst also has many investments and properties including Cosmopolitian, Harper’s Bazzar, The Oprah Magazine, ESPN, and A+E Networks. Potter and French still are unsure of the reason it was pulled. All they were told is that the Hearst Executives pulled the plug. Hmm, I wonder why these executives wanted this story to be covered up. Let’s continue…

The Atlantic again describes Singer’s wild parties as full of young, naked men and a handful of older gentlemen praying on them. These are stories we have come to be too familiar with. More allegations are declared that Singer slept with two underage teenage boys, one as young as fifteen, in a Beverly Hills mansion. Four new victims, one as young as thirteen, was an extra in Singer’s film, Apt Pupil. You may recognize Apt Pupil as the film starring Brad Renfro, who would later die of an overdose at 25-years-old and it is heavily implied (by both The Atlantic Article and Buzzfeed) that Renfro’s frequent visits to Singer’s parties led to a lifetime of regret and guilt. But, what makes the film stand out above all is three underage boys claiming Singer had them disrobe during a shower scene. Apt Pupil is where one of Singer’s latest accusers, Victor Valdovinos, enters this horrifying picture.

In The Atlantic’s article, Valdovinos, then 13 and in seventh grade, claims he was approached by Singer from behind at a urinal. Singer, allegedly, complimented the looks of this child and how he could put Valdovinos in Apt Pupil. Allegedly, Valdovinos would be an extra in a locker room scene. The barely a teenager waited there and disrobed down to a towel. When Singer got him into a private area, he proceeded to jerk him off while speaking how well he would be taken care of. After those events, it seemed that Valdovinos, mentally wounded from Singer, fell into a spiral of life events that seemed similar to someone trying to prove his masculinity: becoming a teenage father, high school drop-out, and served jail time. More allegations from the teenagers claim Singer would “[ply] people with alcohol and drugs and then have sex with them. It wasn’t a hold-you-down-and-rape-you situation” but more so it involved drug-fueled sex orgies, being passed around Singer’s group of much older friends as basically a sex toy, leading to years of prostitution and drug abuse, and how Singer’s interest in those who he would call his ‘boyfriend’ would cease as they got older. A new accuser, Cesar Sanchez-Guzman, claims Singer raped him while on technology millionaire Lester Waters yacht. Sanchez-Guzman was seventeen.

These new allegations and the endless ones we’ve heard before regarding Singer’s inappropriate behavior are obviously unacceptable. For some reason, Hollywood ignores all of Singer’s accusers. Recently, Bohemian Rhapsody’s star, Rami Malek, claimed he had no idea of Singer’s previous sexual abuse and pedophilia allegations. Umm, girl, how?! Isn’t researching someone you’re going to be working with or for the new normal? I don’t believe this for a second. It’s very similar to X-Men actress, Olivia Munn, who campaigned hard to remove a sex offender from her latest film, The Predator, during a big PR stunt. Ironically, she took a starring role in Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse two years before that. You knew, also, Olivia.

Staying on track with celebrities and media attention: Why am I finding it difficult to find any mainstream media giving press on the many Singer allegations? I’ve been working on this story for two days and during that time, I’ve gone to many A-List celebrities’ social media pages who have worked with Singer in the past. Anna Paquin, Hugh Jackman, Ellen Page, Patrick Stewart, and more … absolute silence. Why aren’t any powerful influencers and celebrities speaking on this? Is it because Singer’s accusers are mainly gay?

I reached out to Gabe Hoffman, director of An Open Secret, a film about same-sex pedophilia in Hollywood which includes covering Singer and his group of friends. I was curious to get his opinion on why no celebrities or mainstream outlets are covering Singer’s accusations. Does Singer have dirt on these elite? Hoffman tells:

“For some unknown reason, fighting Hollywood child sex abuse doesn’t appear to be nearly as popular as political and other social justice causes, amongst the Hollywood elite.”

Hoffman continues to share his opinion on The Atlantic’s article:

“My first of many lengthy conversations with (exposé writers Potter and French) was in February 2018, at the beginning of their journey. They did amazing journalism and deserve to win the Pulitzer Prize.  This exposé is far more severe than Ronan Farrow's report on Harvey Weinstein in 2017, which won a Pulitzer. In October 2018, after Bryan Singer's false attack on (the article) – I personally offered to buy, insure, and bankroll the story if Esquire ever did not want it. That is the level of confidence I have in the accuracy of their journalism.

Bryan Singer resorts to false homophobic slurs in his response – because he has absolutely no defense for his crimes upon children in Hollywood.  Singer knows that his career is finished. Just look at the picture of a 15-year-old Brad Renfro, who Bryan Singer was sexually abusing, as a child actor on the film Apt Pupil, which Singer directed.  Singer was 33-years-old. Renfro died of a heroin overdose at age 25 in 2008. Singer is a monster.”

According to Deadline, Singer has responded in the most Kevin Spacey-like way ever. Don’t forget Singer and Spacey have been longtime friends. My mother always said, “Birds of feather flock together”. After Spacey was accused by RENT actor, Anthony Rapp, of sexual abuse when Rapp was a teenager, Spacey decided to come out of closet. It is popular opinion Spacey seemingly wanted to deflect his sexual abuse allegations by a minor by broadcasting his sexuality. This topic inspired my article Coming Out As LGBTQ Doesn’t Right Your Wrongs! Singer is claiming the latest exposé on him is nothing but homophobia. I’m waiting for the theme song of Curb Your Enthusiasm to chime in any moment. Singer tells:

“The last time I posted about this subject, Esquire magazine was preparing to publish an article written by a homophobic journalist who has a bizarre obsession with me dating back to 1997. After careful fact-checking and, in consideration of the lack of credible sources, Esquire chose not to publish this piece of vendetta journalism. That didn’t stop this writer from selling it to The Atlantic. It’s sad that The Atlantic would stoop to this low standard of journalistic integrity. Again, I am forced to reiterate that this story rehashes claims from bogus lawsuits filed by a disreputable cast of individuals willing to lie for money or attention. And it is no surprise that, with Bohemian Rhapsody being an award-winning hit, this homophobic smear piece has been conveniently timed to take advantage of its success.”

Perhaps Singer forgot he has literally had sexual abuse and pedophilia allegations against him for twenty years? This isn’t to take anything away from you! This is to finally call you out after being protected for years. Jeez! I can only hope his pillar will fall – and with the latest exposé, maybe it is. But until he is found guilty, we have to keep using the term allegedly.

According to Variety, GLAAD has removed Bohemian Rhapsody from any nominations at the GLAAD Media Awards. GLAAD took the words out of my mouth, finally calling out Singer for his behavior and demanding the allegations be taken seriously. They tell:

“In light of the latest allegations against director Bryan Singer, GLAAD has made the difficult decision to remove ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ from contention for a GLAAD Media Award in the Outstanding Film – Wide Release category this year. This week’s story in The Atlantic documenting unspeakable harms endured by young men and teenage boys brought to light a reality that cannot be ignored or even tacitly rewarded. The Atlantic story wrongfully used ‘homophobia’ to deflect from sexual assault allegations and GLAAD urges the media and the industry at large to not gloss over the fact that survivors of sexual assault should be put first, We are in the midst of a cultural reckoning. Though there was once a time when business as usual could continue amid credible allegations of sexual assault and violence, that era has ended forever. The recent allegations regarding Bryan Singer’s behavior are horrifying and MUST be taken seriously and investigated. We believe, however, that we must send a clear and unequivocal message to LGBTQ youth and all survivors of sexual assault that GLAAD and our community will stand with survivors and will not be silent when it comes to protecting them from those who would do them harm.”

I teared up a little bit when reading the GLAAD statement. Finally someone is not only listening to the allegations, but is also taking action against Singer. Listen, I hear you and see you – I’m talking about you who is reading this article and somehow thinking “he’s innocent until proven guilty, blah, blah, blah”. I may think that way too if I wasn’t involved in the entertainment industry. As a young, gay man entering this Hollywood world, we are warned about Singer and his friends. The smart ones, who have outwitted or side stepped a land mine, know Singer and his crew don’t fetch after someone like Troye Sivan or Timothee Chalamet as their party favors. They go after the young gays who aspire to be in the industry. They go after the background actors, ones who may not have a certain X factor, and especially the vulnerable ones who no one will believe (ironically, the title of The Atlantic’s article). Hell, some of us become so twisted as to what “Gay Hollywood" is that we actually want to have a seat at Singer’s table simply because most believe there is no other way in besides laying on your back. Singer and his crew are single handily ruining the lives of creative, aspiring gay artists and leaving them for dirt. It’s absurd! Thankfully I am a part of the era when all of, but especially gay, Hollywood is changing. At one point, I believed the only way for me to become someone was to be in a room and unzip Singer or his friend’s pants. I don’t believe that anymore.

It was just two weeks ago where the entire music industry destroyed infamous musician, R Kelly, after his Lifetime special aired interviews of women who described being sexually abused by him. Lady Gaga, John Legend, and many others quickly took to their social media and buried him. Kelly’s career, thankfully, is becoming non-existent. Kelly was discussed on various daytime talk shows including The Wendy Williams Show and The View. He’s, as millennials say, canceled. But, Singer…is still getting work. Even after The Atlantic’s article…

Since they dug up decades old allegations about Kelly and paired them with new ones, will that happen to Singer?  Or will he be protected from the guillotine for the rumor is he has dirt on other celebrities and if he goes down, so will they?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Singer is still set to direct Millennium Films remake of Red Sonja with a $10 Million paycheck. Avi Lerner, Millennium’s Chief Executive Officer, who has been accused of sexual harassment by his employees and threatened Terry Crews to not go public with his sexual assault accusation, released a laughable statement. Lerner said:

"I continue to be in development for Red Sonja and Bryan Singer continues to be attached. The over $800 million Bohemian Rhapsody has grossed, making it the highest grossing drama in film history, is testament to his remarkable vision and acumen. I know the difference between agenda driven fake news and reality, and I am very comfortable with this decision. In America people are innocent until proven otherwise.”

Wow, just, unbelievable. I feel like I’m living in the twilight zone. Either Mercury is in retrograde or Singer is backed by some pretty powerful people keeping him in the loop. Now I’m curious, who the hell is going to take a role in Red Sonja?! Is this the comeback Spacey was talking about? But, now what happens? But now NBC and Buzzfeed are talking about the Singer allegations. Will Singer still magically avoid his allegations now that it ishitting mainstream media?

Hoffman's dedication to bringing awareness to child abuse in Hollywood in inspiring. To get more scoop on the going-on's and alleged grossness of Singer and this particular niche in the industry, you have to check out An Open Secret, below:
