A former lover of pop legend George Michael has made some outrageous claims regarding his death in where he says that the reason for it was suicide and not natural causes as listed.
Fadi Fawaz, who had a stormy relationship with the "Father Figure" singer for five years, gave an exclusive to The Sun about his allegations regarding George's cause of death.
His first claim was that Michael died on Christmas Eve and not Christmas Day, the latter of which was widely reported to be the day that he actually died back in 2016. Even though it was listed as natural causes as to why he died, Fawaz said that he killed himself, adding "It took five attempts.”
Fawaz also claimed that he lied dead for 24 hours after he killed himself. “I’m sick and tired of people asking me what happened on Christmas Day," he said in emails to The Sun.
“Well let me tell you, George died on his mother’s birthday, so that might answer a few questions," he continued. "Not to mention it took five attempts to manage to end his life. I think it’s important for the story.” George's mother Lesley Harrison died after a cancer battle on Christmas Eve in 1997.
Fawaz claimed that he found George's body at home during lunchtime. A coroner determined his cause of death to be the following a couple of months after his passing:
“Enquires into the death of George Michael have been concluded and the final post mortem report received. As there is a confirmed natural cause of death, being Dilated Cardiomyopathy with Myocarditis and Fatty Liver, the investigation is being discontinued and there is no need for an inquest or any further enquiries. No further updates will be provided and the family requests the media and public respect their privacy."
The results of a post mortem were never made public at the request of the family. And there was no mention of the toxicology test results. So is there any clout to what Fawaz is saying given how private some of the matter was regarding his death?
This isn't the first time Fawaz has mentioned suicide as a possibility regarding his former lover's death. He made some cryptic tweets back in 2017 which alluded to him saying that Michael took his own life. He distanced himself from those posts, where he claimed that hackers were responsible for it.
