Out sports star Jake Bain has made an excellent name for himself over the past two years.
The charismatic Missouri native first grabbed our attention in 2017 when he announced he was gay at a school assembly on National Coming Out Day.
His community then surrounded him with nothing but love and support when the homophobic Westboro Baptist Church targeted him for demonstrations in March of last year.
Jake’s spotlight grew much bigger when he appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in January alongside his super cute boyfriend, Hunter Sigmund, to talk about his overall coming out experience and the impact it’s had on his life and our community.
The 19-year-old recently made waves when it was revealed that he quit his college football team, The Indiana State University Sycamores, but not because of anything homophobic. He simply wanted to focus on his academics moving forward, and who can blame him for that?
