RuPaul’s Drag Race is back! It feels as if we are still untucking from the excitement surrounding the season 10 finale, however this show is too hot right now to take an elongated break beyond the holidays hence the Holi-Slay Spectacular that is premiering tonight on VH1. It takes place only one week before All Stars 4 begins next Friday, December 14th. This will more than likely then lead to season 11 premiering sometime in 2019. Hennnnnny.

The Holi-Slay Spectacular, where 8 Drag Race alum compete for the title of America’s First Drag Race Xmas Queen, is a 1-hour special that will be filled with half-naked men, drag queens kissing and so much more.

Here are 5 things to look out for before watching the holiday-themed episode tonight:

The group of 8 queens competing is a pretty fantastic bunch that appeared on a variety of season and did very well for themselves during their initial (and some follow up) time on the show. Eureka O’Hara, Shangela, Jasmine Masters, Kim Chi, Mayhem Miller, Latrice Royale, Sonique and reigning All Stars champion Trixie Mattel are all vying for that important holiday crown this evening. Who has the best shot at winning it though?

There are some fan theories out there that Shangela will and should win the title due to this being her fourth time competing. Many thought she was robbed of the All Stars 3 title earlier this year, so this could be her holiday redemption on a show that has catapulted her to superstardom.

It’s gonna get a little hot in the werk room courtesy of Mayhem and Trixie who share an intimate kiss (see clip here). “I brought mistletoe, anyone wanna kai kai?,” the season 10 star asked which Trixie then jumps at the opportunity to do so.

Mayhem also gets into it with Eureka over who will win the crown come episode’s end. “I’m about to win this whole competition,” she exclaims before the season 10 runner up chimes in with “Lies and deceit! You’ve gotta be jolly like Santa to win ‘Christmas Queen."

There will also be a ton of half-naked men decked in some very revealing holiday wear. So if that’s the only reason you watch, then so be it.

RuPaul’s Holi-Slay Spectacular airs tonight, December 7th, at 8:00 PM on VH1.

  1. It was a fun special episode

It was a fun special episode of Drag Race, I won't spoil what happens.   It of course features lots of dancing faeries, the the biggest surprise was the glorious return of Sean to the Pit Crew!  WOOF!!   Like most reality shows lately, they have all devolved into rehashing previous contestants in endless reincarnations, evidently there is no one out there in the world any more who can compete in a reality show, the pool has been used up, closed, and only old contestants can appear from now on, hence the upcoming 4th iteration of All-Stars.    Regardless, it will be fun to watch and I hope that Manila or Latrice finally get their due, and I vow here and now that if Shangela shows up at some point I will NEVER EVER watch Drag Race again!
