Just a couple of weeks ago we reported that Jess Guilbeaux, the 23-year-old lesbian who appeared on Season 3 of Queer Eye was the focal point of a GoFundMe campaign to assist with her financial hardships. After only 21 days since the campaign was started by an individual from Guilbeaux’s hometown of Lawrence, Kansas, over $92,000 has been collected in donations from total strangers who want to see Guilbeaux achieve her academic goals as a computer science major. The campaign is currently set to $100K.
Season 3 of Netflix’s Queer Eye was a tear-jerker, as the show has proven since it was rebooted in early 2018.
the black girl magic episode of Queer Eye is powerful for so many reasons, but this particular scene, where Jess talks about her journey from giving up on unconditional love to loving and embracing who she is, is truly beautiful pic.twitter.com/aglXAKTKBq

The funds for Guilbeaux have reached beyond what she could have ever imagined coming out of her appearance on the show. A couple of days ago, Guilbeaux provided an update that will warm everyone’s heart:
Hello everyone!
I wanted to update everyone on what your wonderful gifts have helped me do and my process to getting back to school: I have paid off all my student loans!! I’m so excited and ready to continue my education with a fresh new start. Thank you so so so much for everything!
-Jess
It looks like the reformed ‘lumberjack lesbian’ is heading back to school with a new look, a new attitude, a whole new outlook on life.
