The RuPaul’s Drag Race fanbase isn’t finding it “Brown Cow Stunning” (hayyyy Monique Heart) that All Stars 5 is making the move to Showtime from VH1 this coming June.
News of the drastic change was announced on Thursday, February 20, where it was revealed that AS5 will premiere on Showtime after the season 12 finale on Friday, June 5. This marks the 3rd major network that RPDR has been on following LOGO (seasons 1-8 plus its first two All Stars editions) and VH1 (seasons 9 through 11 plus All Stars 3 and 4).
“Take VH1’s Drag Race, for example. With a large and loyal following, we believe this franchise will be additive to Showtime’s subscriber dynamic, which is why we will air a special new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars on Showtime on a first window basis,” Bob Bakish, the president and CEO of Showtime and VH1 parent company ViacomCBS, announced during the company’s earnings call Thursday.
Cue several fans of the show being pissed about this big change as they let their feelings be known about it all over social media.
“I won’t subscribe to Showtime to see it,” one wrote. “The show isn’t what it once was. It’s mundane and repetitive now. It’s like watching a home makeover show but with drag queens. It’s nice to see the end product but we learned that the foundation is cracked and the plumbing has issues.”
Some found the humor in it and used clips and memes to vent their frustrations over having to use another streaming service to watch the show.

Others were just flat out pissed as they saw this as a way for the RPDR empire to make extra money from its fanbase.
.@RuPaulsDragRace @rupaul @WorldOfWonder @ViacomCBS @vh1 @Showtime it'll be a cold day in hell before I sign up for Showtime just to watch #AllStars5. This is nothing but a cash grab that's disrespectful to the fans of the show. #notimeforshowtime #dragrace
