We’re getting pretty excited to check out the BBC miniseries A Very English Scandal, and the drop of the first trailer is adding to the craze.

The upcoming miniseries will be split up to three parts and follow the real-life gay sex scandal between British Parliament member Jeremy Thorpe (played by Hugh Grant) and ex-model Norman Scott (played by Ben Whishaw).

The 1970s were a turbulent time for Thorpe who had decided to join the liberal party instead of the conservative one his father belonged to. He then rose up in the ranks of that party to eventually become its leader. On top of that, he was also cheating on his wife with Scott.

Again, the trailer is out now and you can watch it for yourselves down below.

A Very English Scandal will appear on British tv screens this month. As for American viewers, we'll see it on Amazon Video later on.

It would also be wrong of us to not mention the fact that Ben Whishaw, who’ll be playing Norman Scott, is himself an openly gay man. Whishaw came out as gay back in 2013.
