As expected, the American Family Association, parent organization of boycott happy One Million Moms (which makes AFA a meemaw, we guess!), is ready to put Target in its bulls-eye over that new line of Pride t-shirts we told you about yesterday

Posted over at anti-gay "news" site One News Now:

"[Family Equality Council] advances homosexual marriage in the United States and pushes for federal law to recognize same-sex marriage," he explains. "Target has basically decided that they're going to endorse this organization, that they're going to endorse gay marriage laws in the United States, and they're going to back it up with $120,000 cash."

Sharp recognizes that a few corporations in America are backing same-sex marriage, but notes this is the first time that AFA has seen Target get involved. But the retailer's promise to homosexuals is blatantly posted on its webpage.

"We know for a fact that Target is a very gay-friendly company. You may remember a couple of years ago, when Target came under heat from homosexual activists for donating to a pro-family candidate for United States Congress," the special projects director recalls. "And I think what Target has done is they've folded that tent and they've completely caved in to the homosexual agenda."

The AFA goes on to announce that it is asking its followers to stop shopping at Target until the retailer removes its PRIDE line ahead of schedule (June 30).

I rarely shop at Target but now I will make it a point to shop there MORE often. If those who support same sex marriage do the same I doubt AFA's boycott will do anything.

You are out numbered Jades!! Homosexuals have decided they know better than their creator. We love you, but hate what you do. It comes from your enemy........he wants you to fail......to end up far away from God. Just think about it...........how could we precreate if we didn't marry the opposite sex??

Boycott them all you want. Walmart is always there for ignorant bigots. I just wish God would let one hate filled individual walk a day in the "shoes" of someone that is gay. I'd love to see them on their knees praying for God to take away the gay. To cry and not understand and be confused about the feelings they're experiencing about the same sex. But, you're born straight. Gays choose. It's something really wonderful to choose. To be discriminated against, ridiculed, harassed, beaten, tortured and looked down upon by people that are supposedly living the life of a Christian.

We criticize what we fear. Why do religious people fear homosexuals? Probably some of them are in the closet themselves. Also, their leaders use hatred to galvanize their followers. If Jesus really existed, don't you think he would love all of his father's children?

Also, please don't bring up the Bible. It was written by clerics in the middle ages. It isn't what Jesus said verbatim. It is a revisionist history.

@TommyTomThomas. I agree with you. Being gay is not a choice. There were many, many days when I would pray to God numerous times to make me straight. I suffered royally growing up because I was gay and felt like I had to hide it, so that I would not be teased, mocked, beaten, discriminated against, and on and on and on. I grew up Christian, and have been a Christian for most of life. But, I have seen many people who call themselves "Christians" act so heinously when they think someone is gay. It's disgusting. Those people are not Christians, they are EVIL bigots who don't even deserve the time of day. I have been fortunate that the church I go to accepts me for who I am, and not who they think I should be. Homophobes should spend one day in the life of a bullied homosexual. Then, we'll see if they still think people CHOOSE to be gay.

I think we'll have to start changing the definition of "bigot" into something like "anyone who refuses to bow to liberal fascism."

Yeah, that's it.

I have a vote and I have a choice to shop where I choose. And these liberal crazies who want to rewrite the American tradition can never take that away!

I have to say that I do love and feel sorry for gay people as I do believe to some extent that they are born pre-disposed to being gay and it is a hardship. And I apologize to anyone who has felt persecuted by someone who believes themself to be a Christian. God does not give priority to different sins as the world does. We are all included in "the least of these" no matter what our sin. And, whether we like it or not, the Bible does condemn homosexuality. So, I will continue to love all sinners as I am no better, but I cannot support a sinful lifestyle. So, if I am to support gay marriage because the Bible says to love one another, then should I not support ALL sinful lifestyles? Thieves? Liars? Addicts? Murderers? God gives us all challenges that should bring him glory, it is hard to understand with our human minds sometime why each of us receives particular challenges. I will continue to pray for the people of this world, not against anyone.

Neither I nor my family will ever shop at any target ever again anywhere.

That's $1,000's a year.

We vote our Christian consciences with our pocketbooks. It may not bankrupt the morally bankrupt target, but it's all we can do.

Walgreens too. Last year, at CHRISTMAS, their CHRISTMAS flyers said "holiday" this and "holiday" that, and no mention of the Savior's sacrifice. Never setting foot in there again either.

These bigoted haters need to re-read their bibles. Particularly the new testament. Why are the followers of Jesus, so not like him? If you call yourself a "christian" at least pretend to act Christ-like.

Gay is not a choice. You are not born with it. It's a mental sickness, and it's disgusting. Maybe it's not your fault. People that are mentally sick can't help it, but that doesn't make it okay, and it definitely doesn't mean companies, businesses, and people should throw support to these people. Instead they should spend their resources to get these people professional help. Just because they don't want it and accept their condition doesn't mean it's normal or acceptable.
