Sarasota, Fl. will once again honor the life and legacy of Harvey Milk with the 4th annual Harvey Milk Festival, this year set for May 16-18. Admission is free to all events, except the film component, but there are plenty of art-based activites set to fill any schedule.
On May 16, HMF/Film will host a screening of the documentary I Am Divine, which follows the life story of John Waters’ drag queen protégée Divine. The next day, the festival will host The Equality Art Gallery exhibiting local and national artists at MillerBrady Fine Art Gallery.
On May 18, Five Points Park will turn into a huge concert venue, featuring nine national and local musicians, ranging from high-energy folk rock to catchy electro pop.
Headliners include French Horn Rebellion, Clementine and The Galaxy, plus Good Graeff, Jen Rock and The Cry Babies and more.
