Music videos used to be a crucial way for an artist or group to promote their singles or albums. My how times have changed.
The music video no doubt helped several iconic performers like Missy Elliott, TLC, Britney Spears and more solidify themselves into the global superstars that they are today.
Oh, and there was a ton of eye candy along the way for us to gawk at. All types of artists utilized the male physique in their videos for whatever their reason might have been. From D’Angelo getting completely naked to Backstreet Boys dancing shirtless in the rain all the way to Janet Jackson giving us an early taste of Djimon Hounsou, we were there for it.
And it may have just influenced us to run to a local Sam Goody and buy whatever they were hawking after the sheer thrill of seeing some shirtless action in a three to four minute clip.
Check out 15 music videos that expertly showed off the male physique.
