According to Towleroad, the RRM’s description is as follows:

“The Bureau of Prisons contracts with residential reentry centers (RRCs), also known as halfway houses, to provide assistance to inmates who are nearing release. RRCs provide a safe, structured, supervised environment, as well as employment counseling, job placement, financial management assistance, and other programs and services. RRCs help inmates gradually rebuild their ties to the community and facilitate supervising ex-offenders’ activities during this readjustment phase.”

Brank went to prison for blackmailing and extorting thousands of dollars from Republican donor Donald Burns. Burns, who has supported Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, and more, hired Brank as an escort in 2013. Burns had met Brank while pursuing a desire to invest in the gay adult film industry. The two began a sexual relationship where Burns would pay Brank as an escort. Brank also acted as a recruiter and was paid $2,000 to find other men for Burns’ sexual exploits.

According to court documents, the relationship went south when Brank threatened to blackmail the influential political donor. Brank warned that he would tell people that Burns was gay and paying for an escort if he didn’t pay $500,000 in cash and hand over his $100,000 Audi sports car. Burns quickly followed Brank’s demands, but that only led to Brank wanting more. Brank then demanded that Burns give him Burns’ Los Angeles apartment and $1 million in cash. While Burns agreed, he also called the FBI.

Together with the FBI, Burns set up a sting operation at a Starbucks shop. It was there that Brank was arrested. During the arrest, police also found a loaded magnum revolver in Brank’s car.

Again, Teo Brank, or Jarec Wentworth, will be staying at the unidentified residential reentry management location in Long Beach, California for an additional five months of incarceration.
