Is Meghan McCain Being Iced Out By Her Co-Hosts on “The View”?

Meghan McCain and her love for the Real Housewives franchise is well documented (with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills castmate Erika Jayne even surprising McCain with a performance live on her birthday on The View). It seems that now, life may be interpreting art though. It’s being reported by Page Six that McCain is feuding with all of her co-panelists on The View, including fellow conservative and close friend Abby Huntsman.

“They aren’t speaking to each other. It’s been about a month. None of the ladies talk to Meghan now. Abby was the last woman standing. It’s bad. Meghan’s so rude,” an insider told Page Six. Another source added, “Abby tolerates Meghan, but she doesn’t genuinely like her. Their friendship has soured”.

Hearing the McCain is feuding with what may be her last remaining ally at the daytime chatfest’s table is hardly surprising. Her battles with View veteran Joy Behar are well documented (with McCain telling Behar at one point “part of your job is to listen to me” during some particularly heavy crosstalk). McCain’s daily interactions with co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro have both been particularly prickly at times as well. When former Fox News host (and personal McCain friend) Abby Huntsman joined the show, many thought the balance at the table could possibly shift and daily tempers would cool; it now seems that the temporary cease fire is over.

An exchange about the possibly testimony of John Bolton ended recently withMcCain stating, “The idea that he went home and grew a conscience … Maybe I’ve been in politics too long.” Huntsman shot back: “Well, I’ve also been in politics. It’s my upbringing too, and a lot of people have been around politics or know politics, whether you have family or not … This show is about opinions.”

Regardless of whether McCain leaves the show or remains to be a much needed conservative voice, it cannot be denied that McCain’s dedication to the LGBT community is unwavering, and she has brought visibility to the community during her time on the show. She brought several RuPaul’s Drag Race dolls to the show, including Nina West & Monet X Change for McCain’s birthday last year. McCain also hosted a panel during the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall with several Drag Race stars as well where they talked about the LGBT fight for equality.
