When Trump was running for president, I wasn't so keen on him ruling the nation. Being a former high school teacher and still involved in higher education, I spoke to friends and asked them , would you want him as your boss or how about your child's principal? The principal reference usually hit home with many, not wanting to see him in charge of their children's education. Of course that wasn't going to happen, but he did win the presidential election.
Now we must deal with Betsy DeVos as the new Secretary of Education. Tell your kids 50% approval is enough to pass GO and collect $200.00. Her approval as the new Department of Education Secretary was in a 50/50 tie until it was broken by Vice President Mike Pence.
So is there reason to be scared of Betsy DeVos? In his new video, Matt Baume lists off how he feels "DeVos Poses Immediate Danger to LGBT Students"
So … are we all comfortable with this?
Do you think we are jumping the gun and we should see what she actually does?
Does the Secretary of any department have such powers? There are checks and balances, right?
We wish our education system the best for the next four years.
