The Tony Awards happened last night, and the best part of the night was Bette Midler’s acceptance speech.
Midler won the award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role in “Hello Dolly!” But, perhaps her best performance of the year was this acceptance speech.
Midler went from throwing out jokes, to naming a long list of cast and crew of the show, to being cut off by the orchestra, to talking over the orchestra, to telling the orchestra to “shut that crap off,” to finishing up her speech 2 minutes later.
