Make Yourself At Home With Amy Sedaris

As everyone’s favorite boozer, user, and loser, Jerri Blank, Amy Sedaris created a cult following for fans of her peculiar sense of humor and unadulterated wit in Strangers With Candy. Since the show’s end in 2000 and the movie based on the series in 2005, Sedaris has kept busy with her recurring roles on Sex and the City, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Difficult People, among many guest spots.

But the true uniqueness of Amy Sedaris, is her ability to make any situation humorous, including crafting and homemaking as she has proved from her books Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People and I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence. Great coffee table books and conversation pieces—you should get them! Amy’s knack for the off-the-wall homemaker science and her awkwardly loveable characters haven given rise to a new series called At Home With Amy Sedaris. The show is co-created by Amy Sedaris and Strangers With Candy co-conspirator Paul Dinello and will exhibit Amy’s handy, and often obscure, homemaking sensibilities.

According to truTV:

Amy will show off her diverse but necessary homemaking skills. These skills range from creating popsicle stick buddies and gutting a fish to making raisin necklaces and entertaining businessmen. Each episode will revolve around a traditional theme, such as: entertaining the grieving, the craft of love making, and cooking without pots and pans. As always, Amy will use her unique expertise to entertain guests, demonstrate her know-how by preparing meals, and exhibit her can-do spirit by attempting to work out personal issues. Remember, if you want to be the perfect host, accentuate the positives, and medicate the negatives.

The 10-episode first season will be on truTV and will include special guest stars Rachel Dratch, Sasheer Zamata, Cole Escola, Jane Krakowski, Heather Lawless, Scott Adsit, David Pasquesi and more!
