Matt Evers is known as a pair skater, model and British TV personality who’s originally from the US (specifically, a Catholic family in Minnesota).
In an interview with Attitude Magazine, Matt Evers officially came out as gay.
Evers not only shared that he’s gay, but that he had another gay family member who left a big impression on him.
Evers shares that his uncle was gay, but sadly died of HIV/AIDS. Even worse, his family ostracized the uncle because of their religious beliefs.
“He was part of the original San Francisco and New York Fire Island crowd back in the 70s and 80s.”
“I didn’t know I was gay at the time, but when he was dying, it hit me really hard that he didn’t know the love of his mum, my grandmother.”
Evers then added that his uncle being gay was a problem for him too until he later realized he was also gay.
