A year ago this month, fitness guru and “Biggest Loser” host Bob Harper suffered a massive heart attack. The “Super Carb Diet” author spent eight days in a New York hospital after collapsing in a gym during a routine workout. He was unconscious for two days after going into cardiac arrest.

Since that time, the 52-year-old, personal trainer has kept fans updated on his recovery. In an interview on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen last April, he revealed that he regretted "overlooking" heart attack warning signs.

I fainted one time in the gym, I started having these dizzy spells and I just kind of overlooked them. "[I] just adapted, which was just the dumbest [thing to do]. I kicked myself over and over again about that."

Now, healthier than ever, Harper is remembering his near-death experience by sharing an “extremely private” photo from when he was in a coma during those few days.

“To say I am grateful for my life is a MAJOR understatement,” he captioned the Instagram picture.

Harper shared that he’s participating in the 2018 CrossFit Open because he can.

“The whole time I did that workout I just kept saying to myself ‘I’m still here. I am doing the #crossfitopen2018 because I AM STILL HERE!!”

  1. Take note, that whole “No

Take note, that whole "No Pain, no gain," mantra will have you in a hospital bed if you don't listen to your body.
