Gay Media and ‘Non-Traditional Male Body Shapes’: Do They Ignore It?

I'll be the first to admit that I had zero clue that Dave Holmes (who is very cute I might add), was playing for our team when I watched Total Request Live in the early 2000's.

Now, all this time later, it turns out that he does play for team gay, which he talked about on Guy Branum's (another fellow gay) Talk Show the Game Show. He's also been in an LTR with musician Ben Wise since the early 2000's, which is 500 years in gay years. The more you know.

Dave gets into a discussion with Guy regarding how the gay media ignores men who have a 'non-traditional gay body shape,' or as I will put it… guys with no six packs.

The topic of conversation goes as follows:

Guy: "After you left MTV, you came out of the closet."

Dave: "Well, i was out of the closet the whole time, but when you have, what I will call, non-traditional gay male body shapes..:

Guy: "I know nothing of that topic, Dave Holmes!"

Dave: "Then you might notice, the gay media will just ignore you entirely. I would bring male dates to things, but like if you're heavy it doesn't matter."

He also had some funny advice for people who don't want their sexuality to be known in public. "Anybody who is having issues about like, 'Oh i don't want people to find out that I'm gay'… gain 15 pounds."

See the clip below. Does this issue ring true even in 2018?

    • They figure that that’s all

They figure that that’s all gay guys want to see. Well not me. I want to see men of all shapes, all sizes and all ages.

  2. Yes it’s always been that way

Yes it’s always been that way…but oh the gay community is supposed to be SO “accepting”.

  3. Yes it does, if you don’t

Yes it does, if you don't look like you spend at least 5 days at the gym then you are gay roadkill. Even the big trend of the dad bods, you still have to be a gym rat. I have always said it's a shame that our 10% society is vanity phobic. That we attack our own brothers.
