Barbra Ready To Release ‘Encore’ In 18 Days. Here’s A Preview Of What To Expect.

I am not one to seek out performers, plays, or musicals.  I go with the flow.  I was flowing through the television channels last weekend and ran across “FunnyGirl.”  That was truly a treat!  It wasn’t my gay gene kicking in, but a new respect for Barbra Streisand.  I had never really seen any of her performances before, but now I think I may be a little hooked and what great timing! I didn’t even know she spelled her name “Barbra” and not “Barbara.”

Set for an August 26 release, Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway, marks Streisand’s third album dedicated to songs from the musical theatre canon, having previously released The Broadway Album and Back to Broadway in 1985 and 1993, respectfully, both of which went multi-platinum.

In addition to the 10-track standard release of Encore, Target will issue an exclusive 14-track deluxe version of the album that includes several show-stopping, dramatic songs, which fans have been waiting to hear Streisand record. – playbill.com

Will those duets lead you to purchase Encore went it comes out on August 26th?

There are some songs that Barbra will sing alone, like “Fifty Percent” from Ballroom.  Maybe hearing a bit of those may make you preorder.
