A Dolly dance album?! Sounds too good to be true, but the legendary country star says she’s got something up her sleeve—perfect for her gay fans.
“At some point I would like to do a dance record,” Parton told Instinct while on a press call from Europe. “I have several songs that are very positive toward the gay community. I have a song called 'Just A Wee Bit Gay.' It's a great little dance tune, it's just funny and it's got a lot of comic in it. I do write a lot of songs along those lines for people that are different. I have a lot of those good, positive, uplifting songs and hopefully, eventually, that’ll get out there.”
We also asked Dolls (we’re close like that) if there are any particular songs or albums her gay fans report relating to more than others.
“I think a lot my fans relate to different songs. A lot of them like the song ‘Light Of A Clear Blue Morning.’ It’s a very uplifting song. It’s a song of overcoming different things,” Dolly said. “But I think [my gay fans] relate to my songs in general, and hopefully they relate to me more than any particular song.”
