While makeover shows may crop up frequently on our televisions, it is safe to say that there hasn’t been one with this much heart, emotion, and fierceness! People reported late yesterday that four of our favorite Drag Race contestants-Alexis Michelle, Thorgy Thor, Bebe Zahara Benet, and Jujubee-are bringing their individual talents together on the series “Dragnificent”. The four ladies are collaborating in an effort to “help someone reimagine their appearance for a special day and reveal the best version of themselves — inside and out” as the report states.
This is not the first time these four ladies have been seen on screen (and off of a runway) together; their 2019 special Drag Me Down The Aisle was not just a hit, but got a massive amount of positive press, and definitely changed the landscape of what the template for a “makeover show” truly looks like.
The four ladies chosen for the show brings a diverse and uber talented mix of looks, culture and perspective as well. Each of the ladies participated on different seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race and bring their own individual experiences to the table. From Thor’s orchestral talents to Alexis Michelle’s Broadway sensibilities, to Benet’s scorching performance style, to Jujubee’s ability to turn a look at any time, these gals have diversity and talent to spare. Plenty of it is sure to be passed down, with a heavy dose of shade and love as Dragnificent premieres this April on TLC.
